OneChain Immunotherapeutics S.L (OCI) is a new and dynamic spin-off company from Fundación Josep Carreras invested also by Invivo Ventures and CDTI-Innvierte. OCI is in continued expansion and growing to a new laboratory located at the Barcelona Scientific Park (PCB). Our mission is to improve people health by advancing in the pre-clinical and clinical development of adoptive cellular immunotherapies such as the use of chimeric antigen receptor T-cells (CAR T-cells) for neoplastic diseases.  Scope of work: From developing new strategies to running actual projects. Our goal is to discover and deliver transformative immune oncology medicines to cancer patients. The nature of the work is explorative and vibrant, and we closely collaborate with a variety of external and internal stakeholders.

Role and functions: We seek a strongly and excellent scientist with the capacity to manage complex interdisciplinary Projects.
The candidate will work in coordination with the Research Director, reporting both to the CSO.

The specific functions will be:
1) Strategy and planning.

a) Provide experimental and scientific leadership to the Product development projects
b) Set-up team strategy and guide experimental roadmap to support quick Go/No Go decisions in product development projects.
c) Engage key opinion leaders and set-up external collaborations with academic institutions and external CROs.
d) Generate robust data package to support the entry of new products in the Oncology discovery portfolio.
e) Collaborate effectively with an extensive network of scientists.

2) Management.

a) Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Development team: prioritize work and optimize resources to ensure efficient and high-quality execution of the project goals.
b) Foster innovation in the team and contribute to new targets/approaches ideas
c) Collaborate with the execution of other projects within the company.
d) Ensure a high-level scientific standard is maintained on all projects.
e) Ensure smooth communication and interactions with the other teams and all stakeholders.
f) Present at Senior Leadership Meetings.

Qualification required: Ph.D. and post-doctoral experience in cell therapy and product development and minimum 4 years of product development experience in advanced therapies; expertise with both targeted and immuno-oncology therapies is preferable.

Experience required:

• Previous project management experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry

• Strong understanding of cell therapy in process development, scale-up and interaction with CDMOs

• Experience in allogenic products

Desirable experience: The following experience specifications constitute a qualification bonus but are not strictly required:

• Previous experience in immune oncology projects

• Experience in Cell Therapies. Demonstrated ability to lead multiple drug development projects and external collaborations.

• Participation in ATMP development projects that have reached clinical stage.
